Care Compliments
Mei Lani R.
Nurse Milani was only my nurse during my nurses breaks, but in that short time she made a significant impact on my care. If I had any concerns she would immediately msg the attending and get it taken care of, things I had been trying to handle for 24 hrs, she fixed in 10 min. She is so knowledgeable and able to address a multitude of questions. Mostly she is willing/happy to go way above and beyond for patients. I could write pages on how much she helped me while in Neuro ICU, it's impossible to thank her enough. Truly thank you.

I would like to share my experience with Dr. Jennifer Chew and the UCLA Health staff at 3500 Lomita #300 in Torrance. A valued service you all provide there is that every visit is thorough. We always go over my current medications and medical questions about symptoms and issues. Dr. Chew takes her time with me to understand how I feel and to see how she can help me. I appreciate Dr. Chew recommending I see a specialist to make sure all my medical concerns are being covered. The office staff went over paperwork with me before seeing the doctor and after my appointment to make sure I had everything covered and no lingering questions unanswered.

Belinda B.
I wanted to share my appreciation for Belinda, who recently assisted me during a very challenging time. My husband and I are relocating to Los Angeles as he undergoes a transplant, and after being transferred four times and disconnected twice, we finally received the help we needed.
Belinda guided us through the complexities of Medicare Advantage plans with incredible patience and care. She kept checking in to make sure I was okay and reminded me to take care of myself too. Her kindness and understanding truly touched my heart. Because of her, our expectations of care are high, she made us feel confident that UCLA is the right choice.
Please let Belinda know how much her support meant to me.

Meagan W.
Dr. Meagan Wong helped me tremendously. I was in so much pain and she trusted my reporting of symptoms to start treating me before the test results came back rather than letting me suffer in pain until the test results came. The treatment started helping immediately and on day three I felt cured! She even followed up by making a note on my test results and explaining that the main thing is if the treatment is working to continue it. I am so grateful for her! She helped take away my pain and I even played soccer last night I felt so good!

Belinda
I am writing to share my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care and empathy I received from Belinda, a member of your Referrals team. In a time when navigating the healthcare system can be particularly challenging, especially as a senior, Belinda has made all the difference in my experience with UCLA Health.
From the moment I reached out for assistance, Belinda took the time to patiently help me find a provider, understanding my unique needs as an individual who is retired from UCLA. Her guidance through the process was not only thorough but also filled with genuine compassion. She reassured me, showed me how to navigate the system, and made me feel like I truly mattered.
This is not the first time I have had the pleasure of interacting with Belinda, and I certainly hope it will not be the last. Her warm and patient demeanor, coupled with her deep empathy, made me feel valued and cared for. In an age where it's easy to feel rushed or overlooked, Belinda's approach was a refreshing reminder of the importance of personal connection in healthcare.
I believe that UCLA Health is fortunate to have someone like Belinda on their team. She exemplifies the values of patient care that make UCLA Health stand out, and I wanted to ensure her efforts do not go unnoticed. It's because of professionals like her that I continue to trust UCLA Health with my care, even after moving out of the country.
Thank you for your attention to this message, and I hope Belinda receives the recognition she so richly deserves.

Scott H.
I just wanted to thank Dr. Scott Hahm for helping me while my regular gastroenterologist Dr. Tina Storage (whom I also love) was out of the office. I got test results which indicated I needed treatment while Dr. Storage was away and he was able to step in seamlessly and work with Graciela to help me get the medication I needed. The entire team at UCLA Health North Hollywood Specialty Care has been excellent, so I feel in good hands no matter what the circumstances. Thank you, Dr. Hahm, for coming in clutch!

Graciela R.
I just wanted to thank Graciela who worked with Dr. Scott Hahm to help me while my regular gastroenterologist (the wonderful Dr. Storage) was out of the office. I got a diagnosis that needed treatment and they went the extra mile to help me get the medication I needed. While everyone I have encountered at UCLA Health North Hollywood Specialty Care has been kind and professional, I really wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Grace for her hard work, as well as for keeping me informed and reassured every step of the way.

Noriko M.
Noriko was the best nurse we have ever had! She was extremely attentive and compassionate. She went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and safe. She went the extra mile to turn a difficult situation into a more manageable one. She clearly has a calling for this field and is amazing with the care she provides for her patients.

Ryan E.
Ryan was very observant and conscientiously noticed that my father was a little too easy to rouse while on a ventilator and increased his sedation (appropriately per doctor's orders) to ensure my father was comfortable and safe. Ryan was very thorough and careful and we deeply appreciate how proactive Ryan was with keeping my father comfortable.

Jessica B.
Jessica was only with us for one shift, but was an incredible shift it was. Jessica was with us on day of discharge and provided motivational interviewing. She was joyful, supportive, and inspirational providing the cherry on top to an incredible hospital stay.

Justin H.
I am thankful for meeting Dr. Justin Hayase during my stay at UCLA! After spending months of countless ER visits at several different hospitals, with no reasoning or solution to my symptoms Dr. Hayase was the only doctor who was able to diagnose me. He is kind, professional, and very knowledgeable in his field. He recommended surgery for my condition and eased my way through it, not once but twice. Now I am lucky enough to remain as one of his patients. Thank you, Dr. Hayase!

Diana M.
Just wanted to take a moment to recognize Diana's great work ethic and charismatic personality. I can genuinely say that despite the type of day I am having she manages to put a smile on my face. She is relatable and treats everyone as if "it mattered". She's always on the go taking care of business ensuring her station and even others (salad bar or drink station) are clean and presentable. She definitely deserves recognition.

Jim D.
Jim went above and beyond to make my friend's experience as a patient in the Emergency Department pleasant. She was brought in by ambulance after having fallen in her house. Jim was not even her nurse but when no one else was paying attention to her, he did! He even wheeled her out in the middle of the night when she was released and I was not sure of how to get her to my car. He saved the day. I cannot thank him enough. If more nurses were like him, patients would feel much better about their experience at such a stressful time. I am most grateful to him. Please forward my heartfelt thanks.

Dr Christina H.
I would like to thank Dr. Christina Han, for the amazing care provided during my pregnancy. I was amazed by the care and quick responses I always received via chat (a chart app that I love). Dr took the time to educate me and make me feel less worried during the pregnancy journey. It is important to have and feel that you are in good care when your health and most importantly your baby's health are involved. Now I have a healthy boy!

Jason H.
I would like to recognize Dr. Jason Hirsch for his amazing care. I had surgery about 2 weeks ago and Dr. Hirsch took such great care of me. Made me feel safe, and heard. He explained everything to me answered all my questions and was just such an amazing doctor. He was so understanding and showed true empathy didn't dismiss my fears and anxiety. I will forever be in his debt for making my surgical experience less scary. There's is not enough thank you I can give him.

Sohan A.
My family and I came down to experience one of the scariest moments in our lives as my mom was having a brain tumor removed by Dr. B.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Sohan who we first came into contact with in Maddie's Room. He was patient & kind from the very beginning and incredibly informative. His attention to detail and his care for others is outstanding & is very easy to notice. I enjoyed speaking with him about other things besides the medical info to help get my mind off the stress of the day as well. Everyone I have encountered during our time at UCLA has been exceptionally gracious and wonderful but Sohan stuck out to me because to some his job may not seem that important but to me I see it as an incredibly important part of the big puzzle that is the care team at the hospital. This morning when we arrived to visit my mom in the recovery unit, he met us with a smile & remembered each of our names, and even asked about a family friend who had returned home yesterday. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Sohan for showing me and my family kindness during this really scary time.
